FCCLA members who would like to attend state convention March 29 - 31 in Columbia MO need to pay at least a $25 deposit by Jan. 30. The total cost of the trip will probably be about $150 - $200 depending on how many students go. The theme for this years conference is "Level up your Leadership."

Welcome Back!

Welcome back from Christmas break.

FACS class is continuing along studying health and wellness issues. Students will begin a report over a health risk topic of their choice this week. They will give both an oral and turn in a written report. Mr. Tom Roy from the Stoddard County Health Center will be here next week to cover topics such as tobacco, alcohol and drugs.

A new class this semester is Child Development. This is one of my favorite classes to teach. We start out the semester talking about why it is important to study child development and will then begin with conception and go through early childhood.

The middle school FACS class has changed for the quarter. We again, start out covering what makes each of us unique, then move in to our child development unit. Next week we will begin our sewing unit. Sewing supplies need to be here by Monday, Jan. 26.

Foods and Nutrition Classes are studying fruits and vegetables. They will also be assisting with the teacher and staff lunch promoted by FCCLA as a fundraiser for our March of Dimes team.
